What is "Take 5?"

A number of months ago, I saw a picture of some young people who had been in our church years ago. As I looked at the picture, I started to see how many of them had "gone South" and had made some poor decisions that put them in a bad situation in life. I almost walked by and said the typical, "What can you do?" Then something made me stop. I started passionately crying out to God for a way to get better results. I was tired of seeing people fail and not realize their potential in Christ. I believe that we serve a great Savior, and awesome God and we need better results!

Out of this quest, "Take Five" was born. Simply put, it is five decisions that you can make in life that will take your life from mediocrity to significance. These are big decisions. They are "game changers," if you will. If we could see how much sense each of these decisions made, and if these decisions could be made beforehand, a sort of pre-decision, then they would be more likely to be kept. I began presenting this idea in the fall of 2009 and have been preaching on them ever since. My hope is, lives will be changed, promises kept, and God would be glorified. Here are the "five."

1. I will make Christ the Lord of my life
2. I will boss my money around
3. I will stay sexually pure
4. I will love my spouse for the distance
5. I will surround myself with quality people

Yes, this is incredibly simple. But what if we could do this? What if the church would make these decisions? I believe we can. At Life Church we will do everything we can to encourage you and your family to live powerful, God-honoring lives.
